Doordash Driver Dog Bite Injuries in Chicago

The Chicago dog bite attorneys at Briskman Briskman & Greenberg have outlined Illinois dog bite laws and shared the risks of dog bite injuries that Doordash drivers face in the state.

The USPS named Chicago the third most dangerous U.S. city for dog bites. Like postal carriers, Doordash delivery drivers face similar risks of dog bite injuries.

Doordash is currently the most popular food delivery app. The company has more than double the market share of its largest competitor, Uber Eats.

Doordash had 32 million users by the end of 2022. Around 69 million U.S. households have at least one dog. A person injured in a dog attack may recover damages if they were peaceably conducting themselves and were in a place they were legally permitted to be. Delivery drivers are legally allowed to be on a house’s driveway, sidewalk, stairs, or front porch to drop off a delivery.

Illinois dog owners may be liable even if their dog was on a leash and has never acted aggressively in the past. Additionally, owners are liable for dog bites regardless of whether they are negligent. Briskman Briskman & Greenberg 205 West Randolph St Suite 925 Chicago, IL 60606 (312) 222-0010
